nomade 1 Posted April 11, 2003 I was wondering if the crop for the lamp on the top is too tight... what do you think? Any other comment wellcomed! Thanks Link to comment
rsalguero 0 Posted April 11, 2003 I like the cropping as is. I also like the way the imaginary line created by the top peaks in the shadow leads right to the top left lamp. There does seem to be a vertical color striation in the sky to the right of the lamp that you might want to clone-out or blur further. And maybe darken the shadow on the wall maybe? For some reason the shadow looks a bit "unreal." Very strong image. Congratulations Link to comment
pvp 0 Posted April 11, 2003 Well done. A perfect example of success through simplicity. Link to comment
nomade 1 Posted April 11, 2003 Thanks for the feedback. Ricardo: about the stripe on the sky, is the result of a bad scanning, that's affecting many of my shots, I only can clon them out. Aside of that, working on a LCD screen, some details like those ones are not always easy to identify, so your observation is pretty useful. I will correct it as soon as possible. Thanks again. ben_crabtree 0 Posted April 12, 2003 Very good capture, strong composition. Actually, I would prefer a tighter crop. It's only personal opinion, but I like the picture better if the top is cropped down to the top of the bricks, eliminating the blue sky. The pattern of the lamp and its shadow become stronger to my eyes. Link to comment
chris_finegan 0 Posted April 20, 2003 Nice playful image. I find the text a bit distracting, though. You might want to put it somewhere in the frame, and at a slightly lower contrast. Link to comment
seven 0 Posted April 27, 2003 Well seen Nestor; strong composition - one can sense the brightness of the day. Link to comment
oskar_ojala 0 Posted April 28, 2003 This is great. I thought a bit about cropping, but I realised it would probably make the image weaker. This is simply an excellent photograph. May I suggest that you'd try a finer-grained film for a higher resolution image, it would really do justice to the subjects you photograph. Link to comment
nomade 1 Posted April 28, 2003 try a finer-grained film for a higher resolution imageThe truth is the ISO 400 film was the one that I had by this moment in my camera. But you're right about the finer grain would probably give better results. Thanks for the observation. Link to comment
jefwong 0 Posted May 2, 2003 I wonder how would the composition be by giving more breathing space for the small lamp. I love the colour, the subject and the relationship between both lamps. Great shot!! Link to comment
michael_hanisch 0 Posted May 13, 2003 Beautiful colors, and a very detailed shadow. What I like most about this image is how the colorful sky & wall contrast with the black&white rendition of the lamp and its shadow - well done! Link to comment
wim_jiskoot 0 Posted August 29, 2003 Nestor, Crop is a little tight indeed, but otherwise it is a F A N T A S T I C picture, as is your entire portfolio. You have a great eye for structures. Congratulations with PoW! WJ Link to comment
gabrielma 0 Posted September 28, 2003 Actually, I like that given there's a definite line along that lamp, the middle one, and its shadow, the "tightness" is in balance. Very nice. Link to comment
