warren_baird 0 Posted March 30, 2001 This was shot with my camera on a tripod, pointing into a basin of water. I dripped water into the basin with one had, and triggered the shutter with the other. The color of the image was modifified in The Gimp - the basin was dark green, and I thought blue looked more natural. The rest of the image, including the nice starburst are natural. Link to comment
warren_baird 0 Posted March 30, 2001 Does this work? Would there be a better way to compose it? Link to comment
wayne_suns 0 Posted March 30, 2001 Overall I really like the picture. I especially like the starburst effect on the flying drop of water. Did you plan on that? The only thing I would like to see different would be more room at the top. Maybe move the column of water down and a little to the left. But it sure is a great effort! Link to comment
warren_baird 0 Posted March 30, 2001 Unfortunately I didn't plan the star burst - You don't have much control over timing in this kind of shot - I probably took 100 shots to get a few that actually worked out. I cropped the image to get a roughly even space around the circular wave - I'll try recropping and seeing how it looks. Link to comment
vladimir_charchuk 0 Posted March 31, 2001 Way to catch the moment. Starburst is a nice touch. Link to comment
j_airickson 0 Posted October 17, 2002 a basin?..what a Cool shot. Seeing as your looking for any suggestions my next thought was wonderwhat several droplets graduating would look likein this i.e. longer stream to the final plunge is what I'm thinking I suppose. After checking outmore of your photos and having viewed 1000's out here at this point so goes this rare interest of my having more...I wanted to ask how long have you been paying attention to photography (yours specifically)? Do you have a favorite camera? lens? Do you have your own dark room? If mentioned already in the tech. section(s) out here sorry but I haven't taken note as yet. Again nice shot here. Link to comment
