jeffrey_cessna 0 Posted March 31, 2001 Ok, there was no photoshop on this one. I simply cropped the print of a picture that I apparently took at too low a speed. Doe this image work on it's own? Any comments? Thanks. Link to comment
jeffrey_cessna 0 Posted March 31, 2001 Well, after that in-depth review I took another look. I don't like the grain from the print, but I still like the composition, in a cheesy oil painting kind of way. I tried to get rid of the grain in my next version. Link to comment
carl smith 0 Posted March 31, 2001 Obviously it was a horrible mistake, but it is kind of interesting. It reminds me of those watercolor paintings as you said. I bet if you kept trying to screw up like that you could get some really cool affects. Just make sure you don't have the grain, because then it'll look like a wacked out painting. Other than that, it gets a 10 on the funky scale. Link to comment
allan engelhardt 0 Posted March 31, 2001 Hm, different. Sure, it's cheesy, but I kind of like it. I would, however, go against the consensus and say that I probably prefer the grainy version. The soft version is just too cheesy for me, I guess, or tastes too much of digital manipulation. The grain in the original version screams "hard-core photo journalism" to me. It gives a nice contrast to the image which, as you said, basically look like an oil painting. Yes, I kind of like it. Certainly it kept my eye longer than the average upload. Link to comment
