I like the feel of this, but what's the big black spot on the right side? Maybe you could try cropping it out.

Very nice moody composition. Excellent soft light. However, I agree with Mark, when he says about distracting dark spot. I wouldn't crop it, just try density down. Nevertheless, a good capture.

Nice foggy mood....but, oooh that black spot on the right. I thought it was a hole burnt in the negative, except that there is a reflection in the water. Not sure what it is, and why it is so dark.

I appreciate all the comments and agree that the problem with this work is the tree (yes - it is a tree) that lost detail and turned into a piece of hardly recognizable dark matter ;-(

 

It looks like I need to spend some more time playing with tone curves, etc.

 

 

 

Nikolai, try masking it with the magic wand and then apply the curve correction to the selection. Use an adjustment layer and play with its opacity. You probably knew all this already...
