There isn't much light in our back yard, because we have many trees. I

lightened this and cropped it in post-processing. But I did nothing to

the depth of field or sharpening. Comments and critique welcome.

Very nice post processing Janice. Good portrait.

I have a dog the looks just like Fred, what breed is he?

All my best,   Bill

We don't know. We found Fred in a trash can at the Georgia Driving Academy in Conyers, Georgia, when he was about 5 weeks old. He is 75 pounds now. He has a blue spot on his tongue, a white patch in his chest and very long legs. What breed is your dog?

We believe that Fred's mother was thrown away. She and her puppies were eating out of the picnic trash bins: all three of them were turned over early in the morning, when my husband opened the Georgia Driving Academy school in October 2008. The vet said that Fred was about 5 weeks old. Fred needed round the clock care for about 2 months. (I felt like I had a newborn in the house again) :)

Hi Janice

My guy is a cross boxer we think with either Retriever or Rhodesian. I'm guessing that Fred is very similar, he has the Mastiff type jowls. Great looking dog. So glad you rescued him.

Thanks for your interest in Fred.

Ever since my husband brought Fred home, I have been obsessing over what breeds are in Fred. He has a blue spot on his tongue: Chow; he whines all the time and has long legs: German Shepherd; he has a ridge of fur on his back that grows backwards: Ridgeback; he has a Boxer shape and a patch of white on his chest; and he has broad shoulders and a black nose the shape of a Mastiff. I first thought Fred was part Mastiff when I took this photo for a dog photo contest, when Fred was about a year old.
