Excellent composition and perfect tiff-based resolution. Unfortunately, the sky is dead. Personally, I'd prefere to see more dense, say polarized sky. It's my mania. Nevertheless, a good shot.

If it is supposed to be news/journalism, it needs more content. This is the result of an ice storm, right? So therefore, communicate that with some people out in the area. Show how cold it is, how slippery it is. I want to get the feeling of the ice and cold when looking at this photo and I don't receive that.

Tom,

Thanks for your comments. This is one of a series of photos. This one shows the beauty of the ice on the ground and trees. See the others for a more personal look.

Thanks again,

Steve

I like the trees and the winding road in this one. Well seen and shot! Good composition. How did you get there if the road was crippled? Must have been cold too. The road looks like it may have been plowed out, with snow at the sides of the road in a nice white line. Just on a personal note: I have just started reading Stephen King's 'Dream Catcher'. The characters are caught in a blizzard at the point I have reached in the book. I might be over reacting. :))))))).

This is a very nice landscape photo but I don't know why it's in the photojournalism category. Good shot, though.

Vicci,

It is a photo of the ice storm Michigan had just a week or two ago. Power was out for 10,000's of people for days. This is one of a series of ice storm photos. This one depicts the beauty of the storm.

Thanks,

Steve

Mike,

Thanks for the comment. It is news as it is one of a series of photos on a spring ice storm in Michigan. It killed lost of trees and damaged many homes, but it is also pretty.
