Excellent portrait. Whatever happened to the man who recorded a national radio show in 1948 to support Truman and warn about the threat to workers interests and civil rights from the Republicans?

This looks VERY very familiar... Where have I seen this before...? Help me out...

Celebrity photography is so difficult. I have what I think are some very decent pics of Cher and Sylvester Stallone, but don't typically show them due to the inherent risks.

 

I think that this is a well composed and well lit portrait, but whenever viewing a portrait of a celebrity, I can't help but wonder how much of the allure is due to the celebrity themselves and not due to the photographer.

 

Is this a good enough portrait to be on the cover of a magazine if it was a non-celebrity? I don't think so, but that isn't to take anything away from this. It's just something I think about with my own celebrity pics and thought I would mention it to you to get your feelings on it. How do you feel about this image? Or is it all about access?

The risks of overestimating the quality of a photograph that I am happy with because my judgement might be clouded by the simple fact that it is a celebrity. I am certainly not denigrating this particular image, just asking a more philosophical question. Is it a good photograph because it's a good photograph or is it a good photograph because it's Ronald Reagan? Sometimes I have a hard time determining the difference with my own work.

The Gipper is one of the few men who makes denim jackets look cool. Even approaching his 80s, Reagan had a great head of hair. A classic pose and a great image.

Forgetting who he is for a second, I think this is a really nice shot, very clean image.

This is a very good protrait. This man seems to think how he looks like, a movie star, for instance ? I can't feel he forgets about the camera, or he is seriously involved by his country. Am I wrong ?

You say its just a photo (this one....) Ok.. I agree, but then, those with nude male bodies are just only photos also.. Not the places to be homophobic (or not). just only photos.. as this one.

I guess what I'm trying to say here is that your comment on my picture may have been less irritating had you simply stated you had a low opinion of Reagan personally. Even though you weren't around when he was president.

You talked about killing people with lies and no excuses (Iraq), you said "I also feel women were made for making babies and serving man". You talk about gayness, as an excuse of something...

Probably you are one of them thinking that theory of evolution is wrong...

Nothing more to talk with you ... kiss your Reagan's photo (ups... this could be too gay).. and be happy, but let the rest of the people be happy also... Don't be homophobic.. just avoid to give your opinion... your opinion is not interesting, even for women... those "serving" you...
