a visual emotion Dark Summer

Richard, I certainly understand the need for experimentation and self-expression and, of course, cheer you on in your seeking discovery, but to me this image is best described as "too dark, underexposed, out of focus and blurry." It seems to lack the basic elements of a good photograph that I have learned and practiced for over 50 years.

I feel really bad in saying those words because I understand different people see different things in pictures and I am certainly not the final word in critiquing photos.  Just view my thoughts as being those of an old fashioned photographer who does not understand the newer ideas.

Not sure Jerry if this reach you, I have been not here for extremely long time.

I fully understand what do you mean and to the note about dark image, well maybe a bit, but it really depends on monitor settings and on other hand this is a dark summer.

To your comment about experimenting, well this image and all from that series I created and call Serene Mind are not documentary images. They are not to document what I have seen, they are created with attempt to document what I have felt. Therefore I asked in my reque4st for critique not what do you think about photo but what do you feel when you look at it.

I have looked at your huge collection of images and I have seen that you yourself did create some images which express more feelings than documenting the subject.
