krillen 0 Posted June 18, 2003 No you can't get sense of the climber, or the route from this angle (I should know, I've probably climbed the route as well!). The climber is dead center, adn there aren't many leading lines to be found. Try using the rope, the draws, or the horz. cracks to lead the viewers eyes. Also try zooming in or out. Show your climber working, or as part of the great scenery, right now it's difficult to see what you are trying to show. Also the light reflected off the climbers back is distracting. It creates a hot spot right in the middleof the shot. If you had waited until the route was in the shade you would have had a much smaller exposure range. On a side note, you can't see you climbers face either, and it's really hard to connect with the subject unless we can see his face/eyes. You had the right idea bout getting up high to shoot though, I'm sure you've seen your fair share of "butt-shots". Cheers Link to comment
