Margraten The Netherlands, US War Cemetery

Please let me know your opinion on this shot of the entrance of the beautiful War Cemetery in Margraten the Netherlands. It's a pity that i can not put this picture online in its original format, the original is 4x bigger, and shows many beautiful details.

I have visited the place several times, and it always looks very beautiful and well cared for.

It is very sad that this place was founded as the result of the many US soldiers that lost their lives during WW II in the Netherlands.

As my daughter has pointed out in regard to much of my own photography, this is a good, straight "postcard" shot. Since I am an expert at this "sorta postcardy" thing, according to her, I can also add, as she does to me, that "that's not all bad".

A good postcard is good serviceable documentary photography that has, as kinder people than my daughter have told me, 'captures the sense of a time and place.'

There's nothing wrong with documentation, and this is a nice example of that. Either be happy with that, or if you want to be "arty", you need to find new ways of looking at the subject.
