marlene_degrood 0 Posted April 4, 2003 Very nice Photoshop work! One of the better "painted" techniques I've seen. All I miss is the stem. Link to comment
mark_rogers 2 Posted April 4, 2003 Thanks, not sure what you meant by "painted", but I just selected the petals and did a hue shift. All other colors are natural except for some levels and saturation adjustements. The petals still have a lot of white because I backlit the flower which made them glow. I didn't want the leaves to have that look so I cut them out of a version of the photo that was not backlit. Link to comment
marlene_degrood 0 Posted April 4, 2003 My mistake, should have said that it has a lovely "painted look" to it . Link to comment
mark_rogers 2 Posted April 4, 2003 Thanks, those are both great compliments and I have already noticed that niether are easy to come by around here. :) Link to comment
ssonne 0 Posted April 5, 2003 beautiful image...i'm curious, did you make the background not quite black on purpose ? it seems to be at 24/255 instead of 0/255...otherwise, the colours and comp are quite nice ! Link to comment
mark_rogers 2 Posted April 6, 2003 The background really was black, and aside from some burning to hide the stand, I did not treat it separately. I try not to get too involved with numbers in my photography (aside from f-stop/shutter speed). I have enough numbers and technical details in my day job. Link to comment
stevenruder 0 Posted April 6, 2003 Nicely done. This is a very pretty shot. I'd like to see the non-edited white one, too. I live in Plano, by the way. It's nice to see someone local here. Link to comment
mark_rogers 2 Posted April 6, 2003 Here is the original raw picture. The leaves in the final picture came from a version of this picture that I shot with the backlights off. Thanks Steven. You should look into the Plano Photography club, it has helped me a lot. Link to comment
