What an incredible metaphor for evolution: a unicellular organism (and pond scum all in one) fighting to stay alive in a hostile territory where nothing is alive. Surrounded by death, swimming in murky waters, drought approaching, trying to find some other form of organic nourishment to eat. Excellent photo idea! Not so its counterpart!
