scott_esposito 0 Posted August 7, 2003 I don't know if the overexposure is intentional here or not. --If it is: I don't think it works. You can see the outlines of shapes in back and it makes the photo look unkempt. --If it isn't: You have to be careful with exposures, especially in high contrast areas (which this one appears to be). Be sure that your background isn't so bright that it will be shot right off the film. The skintone on the girl looks pretty light for black skin, indicating that you probably could have closed the aperture down at least by 1 stop and not lost detain in her face. That would have helped to bring in the highlights in the background. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted August 8, 2003 Gary, I must agree with Scott on the overexposure issue & since you have said you're new to B&W I don't believe this effect was intentional. A well composed, interesting slice-of-life shot but too blown. Best, LM. Link to comment
over exposure 0 Posted July 16, 2004 I agree with the exposure issue.....But I'm afraid that it could be the scanning...I don't know if it's just for me, but I see a particular red tone in the Image, just That feeling that you get when you make an automatic scan.. After that, is a really nice moment, I can see a Style in your (few) shots....so keep up!! Link to comment
