Time #2

this is the same motive as "time" - also in this folder..
I am submitting this to show the difference when I scan the negative ("time") or if I make the picture with liquid emulsion on paper - tone it and hand color it (this)
what do you think?

Emil, I'm perpetually amazed at the images you produce - I've not seen anything quite like your work. Do you have any plans to collect these into a book? As to the comparison between the two images For my taste the destruction on this one is getting a little heavy handed - ideally I think I'd like to see something between the two. By the way, it took me a while to find the other version since I didn't know which folder you were talking about ('more killings' in case anyone else has the same problem).

I think I am misunderstood here.. about the difference between the two pictures / versions ..

It is the same negative and manipulation in both versions..

the main difference is the choise of liquid emulsion on this one - plus the handcolouring..

the first version is "just" a negative scan - this one is a scan of the original made from the negative...

huge difference - don't you think..

I'll try to make a link to the first one..

thanks for clarifying Emil - yes on closer examination I see it's from the same neg, although the results indeed look totally different. I certainly like the rough 'organic' look of the liquid emulsion print but also find myself wishing it would have preserved some of the fine details evident in the straight scan.

This is a truly awesome collection of photographs and if you don't mind me saying, very Germanic. They look like they come from a different age. You achieve results that are quite unique and outclass the Photoshop boys (myself included!). These shots should be made commercially available. I'd buy them.

Simply amazing. Love your work. As for your question, my personal opinion is that I prefer this one better than the other one (only slightly so, they are both great) because I prefer the greater textured feel of this image. To me, your work is more about the feeling, idea, concept or emotion that comes across than capturing detail and as such I think the greater texture works better in attaining that end. Great work.

Your work is stunning. I am drawn to images with texture and I am just blown away by yours. Thank you for sharing.
