I made this image in Glencoe.

It was made under a cobalt blue dusk sky with not a cloud in sight. The

lichen has taken on the blueness of the light.

Thanks for your time and comments

The two trees fill the frame nicely, I'm surprised and pleased at the variety of colors present, and the soft pastels are quite nice.  While it may seem "busy" to some viewers, that's the nature of trees, especially those in a dry environment that are twisted and sparsely vegetated.  Two additional components that I like in your composition are the boulder separating the trees, and the lower right corner composed of a relatively uniform (color and texture) mix of grass and low shrubs.

Thanks Steven for taking the time to comment

Your thoughts are useful and indeed hit upon one of the reasons I went to Large format a while back and that is the amount of detail.

Yes I would agree that some viewers may find it fussy as there is a lot of information on offer, but I think i am attracted more and more by the detail in ordinary places that people just dont see

Once again thanks for the comments!

The color in this is wonderful and is somewhat reminiscent of Monet. I like the contrasts of the two trees in that one is full and the other is bare, allowing us to see more of the great violet tones in the background. . As the previous comment mention, the boulder adds an additional element of interest.
