...I forked up the $25 for a membership on this site. Now my photo.net

portfolio actually has some substance. At this point I've now covered five

weddings, four on my own and one as a second shooter. I'm just

curious to see what others on this site think of some of the work I've

done up to this point. This shot specifically is one of my favorite bridal

portraits. I'm looking forward to everyone's feedback!

William, This certainly looks pretty good to me.  I don't know whether you are receiving payment for your weddings, doing them for friends to get the practice or what.  If you are doing them free for friends pass this one out as is.  If you want to use it for your own advertising or sample album, then learn to retouch faces for glamor or find a local retoucher who will do it.  This bride has lots of marks on her face that can easily be retouched.  The flowers in the foreground are actually overexposed but if you take your pictures in camera raw format that can be easily corrected.

Regardless of your ability as a photographer, remember the no. 1 rule of wedding photography - make everyone look happy.  Here she looks happy but that is one photograph of all those that you take. I have no way to judge the rest.

Sincerely,

Jerry Matchett
