mukul_dube 357 Posted September 29, 2010 Looks like a tasty flower. Direct sunlight is always a problem because of shadows. One trick is to shade the flower with one's head or one's body if there's no companion to do the shading. Link to comment
sranga 2,136 Posted October 1, 2010 Shadows need not be a problem always. I see the shadow of a bee on the petal and that's interesting, because it is more defined than the bee itself. Also the shadows on the top right hand side follows the ridge of the petal. For me the negatives in this image are, noise/artifacts on the top right hand petals, mismatched 'bokeh' between top left hand and bottom right hand corners, shadows on the right hand bottom petals.Positioning of the bees is nice.Selective use of gaussian blur and selective gaussian blur could improve the image.I am also at the low end of the totem pole and just learning that the viewer sees not what you saw, but what you have presented.
