Harry, thank you for your kind comments. You got it right. The smudges in the sky is actually the Milky Way... I'm wondering the reason I got so many 3's and 4's, that they thought they were bad processing smudges. Regards, Glen

Peter,

The sky was taken at 6400 ISO with a 30 second exposure, f2.8 and focussed on infinity and the foreground was taken at ISO 100, f16 and focussed to 1m. I blended the 2 shots together. Thank you for your comments...

I would not worry about the 3 and 4 ratings, I think you can see from the comments here that everyone considers this an interesting and well captured image, well done!

this is a great shot, I have been out there trying to do he same and never got this close...well done...I like the rich red that you have captured....balanced against the cold sky. cheers.
