Infrared Church

primus462

This was shot on Infrared film. I scanned it straight from the print. Any dust spots appeared during scanning and are not on the actual print. This was not edited digitally.

This was shot on infrared film. For anyone who has not used infrared

film before, it causes the sky to go black, and it causes grass and

other foliage to appear white. This was not edited digitally. It is

a scan of the print. The scan doesn't necessarily do it justice.

The swooping clouds in the upper right hand corner and behind the

church were not visible whenever I shot it, yet the appeared on

film. It's odd, but it must have something to do with the infrared

film. Thanks.

This has a nice spooky feeling to it, enhanced by the dog (I think) in the foreground. It might benefit from a little tightening up, perhaps by cropping out the first tree on the left and cropping about twice that much from the right. This would move the church off dead center, adding a little tension. Even as is, it's quite effective.

Not a universal truth. If there is much infrared radiation in the sky, it will appear very light on IR film, while foliage in the shadows may be black! The graininess can be reduced if developed in Microdol.

Also, burn in the white corners at the bottom.
