Stacked In My Favour

ian cameron

Old Man Of Storr, Skye, ScotlandI have shot the Old Man of Storr from a good many viewpoints but this is the first time from the path that leads to the valley behind the central stack. It is also the first time I have taken this shot which conveyed something of the mystery and atmosphere of this magnificent place. I waited until a rolling bank of fog descended on the tallest spire making it almost translucent and by character imperious. The odds at last appearing to be stacked in my favour.NEW!! The Old man of Storr caressed by a fog bank that occasionally dipped

down far enough to add a little mystery to the Old man of Storr.

Great shot, love the colours and detail in the foreground. Might be better to have had a bit more of a sense of the mist. Regards, erik

This definitely caught my eye as I was browsing.  We don't see landscapes like this in flatland Texas.  Very impressive.
