WJT 634 Posted September 24, 2010 This is an extremely pleasant image to view. I love the amount of detail in the variety of foliage that is present in the scene. On a critical note, I would selectively increase the contrast a bit using a moderate s-curve. You have to be careful with this because I would hate to see the soft ambient light go away. Nice composition with the long verticals! It is good photograph. Regards. Link to comment
mike_stemberg 40 Posted September 24, 2010 Do you like the composition? When, I came across this image..my photo appreciation mechanism went into a bit of a tailspin...and then stopped dead.Surely I must NOT like this, but something said to me 'Why do you keep analysing it, then?' Looking at it analytically, this image should NOT work.~ but it amazingly works well.Too well for what it is. Sure there is an amazing riot of colours, and there is a appealing quasi 3D effect given byt the yellow foliage (and the mellow light) at the rear of the image. If the main tree and the other slim trees were the main point of focus then surely a small aperture would/should have worked better~with some sort of 'technique' used in the creation of this image. But No, it probably works better in the way it is. No?.. Yes?Well, this image sure stopped me in my tracks ~ and caused me to comment. So it works! Right? Hehe.! Link to comment
