AJHingel 127 Posted October 12, 2010 I agree with all those above that are attracted by this scene of village life. Such social life is mainly upheld by the elderly and this is not likely to change as younger generations grow older. The problem of many such villages is the one of depopulation as people move to bigger cities for jobs and improve material quality of life. The scene is good for the many reasons mention by others, but I lack a more intimate relation to the main persons. The viewer is somewhat to far away and are observers even for the two in the scene. I would think that it is an option worth considering to keep the landscape format but crop out the tree to the right and get half a meter nearer to the men on the bench. We the viewers would then be part of the party. I know that too often we suggest cropping, but it is also right that making scenes simple and concentrated is a good rule to follow. Just a suggestion.
