Margo_Wade11664880111 0 Posted September 21, 2010 Lovely clean, sharp image of bird and perch. Just wondering if the image could do with some cropping so the bird occupies a greater proportion of the space. Link to comment
larz711 0 Posted September 24, 2010 Thanks for your time Margo. Funny thing is I had this one and one cropped much closer, I like both but this one a little more. I'll put the cropped one up. Link to comment
mike_stemberg 40 Posted September 24, 2010 Very attractive image and setting. Love the colour scheme present. And now for the 'critique' bit. I find the white 'bits' in the background too distracting,. it's bokeh all right for sure but the wrong kind. The background blurred out should ideally push the foregrond subject out front, but not compete. Could you try and artifically blur it a bit more, or decrease the brightness ..or something?Talking about the background, you might also remove two bits of circular 'bokeh area' that happen to be just behind the tip of the birds beak. Removing that would push the bird further away from the background ~make it more the subject. Also, it should be easy enough to remove that twig in the right hand bottom corner of the frame. You mentioned a crop. I would also recommend a crop, solely to have less of the 'white bits' competing with the bird. best wishes ~ mike Link to comment
