This was an extremely challenging situation. The cloud cover was

exceptionally bright with shadows amongst the buildings.

The light was extremely intense and was around mid-day. A normal

automatic exposure would of ended up overexposed. I therefore had to

make some spot measurements of approximate mid-tones with a red filter

(R25 filter) under-exposed by - 2 EV (having the deadly accurate spot

metering system of the OM-4Ti helped greatly!).

I felt this was necessary to achieve a different contrast and tonal

range on the two buildings. The left building is lit primarily in the

middle, a refelection of the direct sunlight whilst the right

building is left in the dark except for the pointed section.

This was the best I could do in the situation and am quite happy with

the results.

Other input would be greatly appreciated!

I think you did a good job - mid-day shots, particularly off steel/glass/concrete etc in a city environment are notoriously difficult. I really like the composition, and the actual buildings, so the feeling the upper right is still too bright isn't much to complain about Well done!
