American Avocet - Marching Bird

Linh, the best shot of Avocet I have ever seen. Very good exposure,DOF and details. My best for your superb shot.

What an incredibly marvellous insight into another world.  Am awestruck by how I have lived my life too fast and am only now beginning to appreciate such wondrous beauty.  Have often looked at your shots but never commented until now.  This is really different and superb to me !

Hi Linh, this avocet seems to overcome gravity like an insect which can manage to utilize the surface tension of water (by its low weigth and special design of its feet) to walk over... OK, actually a frozen motion, the bird must had run / accelerated... But the similarity to an insect "walk" on a water surface is striking here. Hence, IMO an especially great feature of a shot provided by you and a great capture once again. BR / Volker

...right out of Swan Lake ballet...if it would be a swan. Very elegant, photographed music..

Stunning detail and timing.  The colors are exquisite and the slight reflection and droplets of water from this bird's walk add a proper wonder and majesty to this amazing picture. Excellent!

POV and detail really make this shot. The lighting is good too, I like the cast shadow of the wing. 7/7
