Beautiful photo -- great composition and tones.  The slight bit of additional light on the area of the boat is excellent -- that really helps to draw the eye.  A slight suggestion:  you might get even more attention and emphasis on the boat by removing a portion of the reeds in the foreground (there are more than is needed to establish context), and then a corresponding amount on the right and/or left to maintain the proper aspect ratio (I'd probably choose the right; that would put the boat in a great position within the frame).  Again, this is a wonderful photo, very tranquil.

Thanks a lot for your feedback, people! Glad to see that you appreciate the same things I like about my picture :-)

As for the cropping suggestion; I have other pictures from this session with a narrower cropping, but I kinda fell in love with the sunlit reeds against the "black" water.  I also felt that a centered horizon helped establishing the calm I was looking for. But I absolutely see your point, and how it would help emphasize the boat- Thank you for you suggestion.

When I look at an image, I look at it without looking at the comments first, just to register my thoughts to myself. My first thought was that the reeds at the bottom looked great and glistening. May be the caption requires a change ;-) There is fog in the picture, but it is certainly not a foggy boat;-) or even a foggy image :-):-)

Excellent lighting and tones.

If at all I am compelled to give a crop suggestion, it will be the right portion that goes, just after the right extreme of the boat, before the tree starts.

regards everyone.

I'm looking at this again, and now I'm not so sure that I agree with myself.  It's a very subjective call (re: cropping), and different crops have only slightly different aesthetic effects (IMO).  You could crop this in several different ways (top, right, and/or bottom, or leave it as is) and all would be great shots.

This popped up on my screen for the third time (thanks to the comment from Paul), and now I can say that I definitely don't agree with my own first comment.  I wouldn't change a thing!  It's a wonderful photo, made especially so by the surrounding contextual elements (reeds, trees, fog, light and dark areas).

Thanks a lot for the constructive criticism of my photo - especially you Stephen, it's very interesting to read how your impression of this image can change over time.
