In this picture you seem to have captured something akin to sorrow or mourning. It could not have been better composed, the face turned away from the brightness of the sun, the mind wandering in a starless night.

Jack, As usual, you are right on target. A dear friend's mother is suffering a great deal of pain while in the final stages of cancer. I was thinking of her when I shot this. It is especially sad since she is only in her early sixties...much too young!

Linda, it is very hard to leave a comment after reading your answer to Jack's comment about the pain and sorrow your friends are enduring, but this picture really has a special quality, an accent of truth. 

The aura is wonderful, an epiphany.  I'm sorry to hear about your friend's mother.
