Nice sunset yesterday, but arrived very late at Bandon Beach and only

just managed to find a suitable framing before the sun set. What do

you think? Does the composition appeal? The rest?

Bastian

Yes, the composition has appeal.  A couple of suggestions:  With the setting sun so small, it might be best to wait for a few minutes until it is completely below the horizon; at this size, it may distract more than contribute.  Alternatively, a long telephoto would have caught a much bigger sun between two rocks, and that would have been worthwhile.  The only other minor comment is a little more separation between the large rock in the foreground and the one immediately behind it.  Where's a stepladder when you need it?

Hey Stephen,

Thanks for the response! Yes, the separation between the rock in the foreground and the sea stacks is also the one thing I don't like. Truth is, it would have been enough to extend my tripod fully, as I was shooting from a relatively low angle. But it all went so fast, there were other photographers that I did not want to interfere with, and I just did not realize that moving up a bit might have solved the one "problem" - too bad the LCD is so small, otherwise I might have noticed immediately and corrected for it (I had about one minute after this shot).

I do have some without the sun in there, will check whether I like those better. Thanks for the idea!

Alternatively, maybe I'll just try to cut the rock off, thanks to Photoshop! :-)

Cheers,

Bastian
