Hi Nick,

Ha,ha. What a contrast! Indeed two ladies eyeing each other. In each dimension of time and space. Perhaps putting the subject a bit more off center, would have improved it further. The light is warm, because of the source but it could be reduced somewhat. But a delightful image. And a motive I dream of taking - but seldom arrive at.

Regards

Gorgeous subject and well balanced. Only judging by the reduced size JPG, wishing a little that the frame of the painting was a bit sharper... maybe a smaller aperture would have helped? But overall this is a nice image. And a typical example of where I wish I had 2 rating scales like before because I would give you a high mark for "O" to reflect the great idea.

This is a nice theme each time someone contrasts old and new we are taken back and shown what progress has been made in art culture...

The oil portrait sports a hat and feather, your model with sun glasses

Feather in hand and the height of fashion... to shoulder bag and minimal cover...

I also like the stance of the woman who is actually involved in appreciating the painting and not simply "posing" for the shot... the tilt of her shoulders matches the tilt of the woman in the painting, hat, arms and shoulders...

You man not like to manipulate a portrait as many don't... but I personally would remove the information plaque... this would clean up the margin and lead us more intensely to the true subject...

Another thing I find interesting are the cast shadows on the wall from the frame on both sides... at first appearing as interesting variations in wood grain...

A "touch" too warm/yellow... yet, overall, I absolutely enjoy this portrait and thank you for sharing it with all of us!

The woman in the oil is trapped forever in her state... the other, represents the freedom of our age...
