markskelly 0 Posted March 31, 2003 This is a photo of a man about to be led into the police van during a protest in midtown NYC, on March 27th. This is the third protest I've photographed in the last month. This picture is special to me because we looked at each other for a few seconds after I took it. I'm not interested in the political aspects of protest, it's the motivation and humanity that inspire me. Any comments/ ratings on this or any others in my Protest folder greatly appreciated. stanley_rogouski 0 Posted March 31, 2003 You could blur the people around the man in the hood maybe. Also, the head on the right is a bit distracting. Link to comment
roscotboswell 0 Posted April 1, 2003 I rather like it the way it is and like the way the blurred images on the left and right frame the picture and contrast the sharp edges in the top of the frame. I might have liked the face not quite so centered, but it's really a nice shot! - Rosco - Link to comment
will_herman 0 Posted July 2, 2003 I think the content of this picture is amazing. Everyone is busy and looking the other way, while the man about to be taken into the paddywagon is frozen and the only one looking into the camera. He almost looks like he's going to smirk because he caught your attention. Good work. Link to comment
kcmule 0 Posted August 31, 2003 The policemen are all standing around smiling and laughing, but the hooded man (who reminds me of Obi Wan) looks like he knows the real story - like he's trying to warn everyone about something very important but no one cares to listen. There are several other faces on this photo, but my eyes will always snap directly to this man's eyes. This effect might be enhanced if his face were a bit more off center. Link to comment
