jim_j2 9 Posted September 11, 2010 This is the lighter version and I'm trying to get a feel for which is the more accepted version. I was mostly trying to capture the light coming in through the window and hilighting the front wheel of the bicycle on the left side of the image, but yet leave a silhouette of the other bicycle. I personally like the darker version better, but would appreciate your opinions and comments.I will also post for ratings. Thanks in advance, Link to comment
jimmckinnon 3 Posted September 11, 2010 Jim, I have to agree with you. I put both versions side-by-side, and felt that the mood was portrayed better by the darker version. There are more distractions in the lighter version; the blown highlight in the wheel, and even the lovely barnwood. The detail in the bike on the right betrays your vision of a silhouette in the lighter version. While the image (darker) is great here, I'd love to see it in print, where I think it would really shine! Thank you for sharing. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 304 Posted September 11, 2010 Dim light, bikes hanging in an old fashioned bike service store or wherever...really good picture which satisfies my sophisticated taste Jim! Cheers my friend!PDE Link to comment
gajbarker 0 Posted September 11, 2010 I like the composition and lighting in both but overall, I think I prefer the darker version. There is something about the atmosphere that you have captured in the darker version that makes it very appealing for me. When I was scrolling through photos the other day this image immediately caught my attention. All the best! Link to comment
