dwaugh 0 Posted September 4, 2010 This photo was taken after the sun had already set and as I was hiking back down the ridge back to the ranger cabin for the night. It needed to be an HDR to make the most of the shot. In the processing it became slightly grainy, as you can see, but from all the comments I've had so far, people like the shot as it is, so I have not yet gone back to try and make it less grainy. Sometimes I also like the "painted" look. All comments and critiques welcome! Link to comment

If they look at some central feature and then wander off the edge, giving me the expectation of looking at another image, I judge it a so-so job. But this one carries me from feature to feature. Every time I approach an edge and think my eyes will drop out and move on some contrast of light, some sharp ridge, some expanse of color draws me back.
