I see this so many times everyday. Looks like a toned b&w but it's probably color (or vice-versa, what does it matter...). Funny perspective; the light is very perpendicular and so is your point of view (I can see you reflected) and that creates an optical effect that makes cups look flat.

Interesting perspective; it does give a sense of being lonely...maybe it's the tones or the subject, I am not sure, but it does say lonely to me. Thank you for sharing. :)
