steven_morrow 0 Posted September 1, 2010 Any suggestions for improvement? I am in the process of calibrating my screen so any colour cast / gamma suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks Steven Link to comment
darryl-taylor 0 Posted September 2, 2010 It's not an image I would like to try and check a monitor with; the golden colour of the light has tinted everything, so getting an accurate colour reference would be a nightmare. The over-exposed sky on the left is a bit distracting, if you tweaked that with D-lighting it would improve the image considerably (check the saturation if you do this as it can end up a bit gaudy otherwise, it's a personal preference thing though so whatever works for you). Good DOF and reasonably sharp over most of the image. Link to comment
steven_morrow 0 Posted September 2, 2010 Good point - I have done a bit of monitor fiddling on my laptop to get it better but I got a few prints done recently and some were fine but others were quite undersaturated in comparison.I might give this shot another go to sort out the issues you mentioned. Thanks! darryl-taylor 0 Posted September 2, 2010 You're welcome. There are quite a few tips for setting up monitors and printers on this site' they tend to be biased toward desktop monitors as these give better results than laptops, but the information is still relevant if you allow for the fact that you'll never get perfect results. That being said; the people who can afford the equipment to get perfect results are in the minority so just go for the settings that give you results that YOU are happy with. And keep shooting. And enjoy yourself :o) Link to comment
