A nice occasion and and very difficult light. Sun is at the top. White horse and lot of white clothing. Contrast too high and whites are blown out. In spite of good action it is not as impressive as it should be.

If it was a RAW picture you could recover some of the high lights. I played with your small picture and toned down the highlights but cannot recover any detail.

on D200 you can reduce exposure I will try -7 and will use spot meter on riders face.  Regards, ifti.
