Tension
Well, the horizon is vertically centered here - And i even did it willful. ;-)Seriously: The rule says, that the horizon should split the image at 1/3 sky to 2/3 ground or 2/3 sky to 1/3 ground - but i would say, this sky here is an exception of this rule, because of the cloud formation. Of course it was possible to crop out the upper part of the sky, to get the 1/3 to 2/3 ratio, but in this case the image would loose its tension (at least in my eyes). And on the other hand, croped in 2/3 sky to 1/3 ground, the image would loose its depth. So in the end i thought, that this image is well balanced in this unorthodox way, even with a fifty/fifty horizon. What would you say? Was my rule breaking okay here - or was it better to follow the rule and crop this image in a more traditional landscape format? All comments welcome.
