Tom, the lights were there, not from PhotoShop. No manipulation in this photo except cropping. Want to express the Anticipation

I am also very curious about photos without digital manipulations would have a chance these days, or I should go heavily into manipulation that it is almost NOT photography anymore.

Thanks for your comment.

Very interesting. I've made some concert photos and this brings me a lot of memories. Good composition.

UnPSed photos DO have a chance. This could be faked, but I don't think it would get any better, and probably some details wouldn't be so nice. If I were going to chance the process of making this photo, I'd rather go there and schedule a photo session than making this up digitally.

I cannot understand why so many people immediately think of photoshop when looking at this photo. I don't see any very strange, or unnatural, or hard to capture visual effect here. I guess that dropping those lights in photoshop might even be marginally more difficult to do that actually photographing them.

In any case, on to the picture, while not earth-shaking, it does bear the notion upon which you want to build. It is a capture of this weird moment before the great moment. The lights kick in, the stage is set, we are anticipating the show. I have seen another image, very similar to this one, in photo.net, and I remember that it had the exact same feeling. I think it was a bit tighter-cropped with almost identical colours and it worked better, at least for my eyes. (maybe it was yours, too, I can't remember the photographer and it was a long time ago to seek it in my comments) Overall, it is not an outstanding photo, but it's onto something, it does have a direction and an idea behind it, and that idea is clearly visible.

Nikos analyzed this image quite well and I agree with his points. I think its a great moment that you captured. It has a very nice element of anticipation that I really like. Nice job.
