john_s._flannery 0 Posted March 19, 2003 Beauty. Well conceived and executed. Dramatic and original. Back from Ireland with a bug that has confined me to quarters. Haven't really worked the images yet. jsf Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 28, 2003 One of the very few "7s" I've given, and well deserved, IMO. Line, form, colors, background, interest, composition sharpness-- this one's got it all! Congratulations. Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted June 1, 2005 I like it! Would be very interesting to see it printed on Kodak Metallic. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted June 1, 2005 David, I'm pleased to see people actually still look beyond recent uploads. I have this printed on matt paper hanging on my wall and have received many comments on its resemblance to a Japanese silkscreen print. But I am sometimes still bothered by the stubby branch at top right. Do you think there's a crop that would eliminate that without compromising the composition? Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted June 2, 2005 I would keep the oak in the top right. To me, it is the thickest and therefore the most powerful looking one of the group. The other 2 on the left appear to be reaching out toward the upper right and they need something powerful to be reaching for. I tried some other crops, but couldn't come up with anything better :o) I really think this would look amazing on a shiny metallic paper. Whenever there's gold or silver sheen in the photo I start to think super glossy. Of course this would probably look good on something with texture as well. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted June 2, 2005 David, I hadn't given that a thought. I'll ask at the photo store what kind of paper they can offer. And thanks for your response on the crop. Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted June 3, 2005 Do you have access to someone with a Fuji Frontier? We have 2 professional labs here in GR that allow you to make an account, upload the file on the internet, order the print and they come spitting out the machine on your chosen paper. The prints are inexpensive up to 10x15 and the quality is fantastic. Link to comment
