Very nice shot. Good treatment. I might like les on the top and more of his hands on the bottom. The hat and his face are wonderful. - Charles

Thank you for reading the intro and understanding that it was the environment I also wanted to show in this shot.  I noticed you'd been away and missed you. Your smiles were not all over PN for some days.  Thankyou for your very kind and insightful critique.  Sincerely, Gail

Thankyou for answering my 'weather' questions.  I had heard you had it very warm over there, so even if you send 'warm' kisses.....they'll do. Especially all the way from Italy!!

Thankyou for your kind words of critique and interest in this photo. I do appreciate your visits as I know right now you are very busy with your work. Many thanks for your time....sincerely, Gail

Thankyou for writing....perhaps you were just having a 'stressful' moment, we all have them, and things we write  are often misunderstood.  I look forward to hearing from you again. Sincerely, Gail

Hi Gail, stay a rebel....with respect to the rules, I never call them rules, I call them  $%^&*"@nX~ ....:-). Art by definition is free from rules and I like your picture. Warm regards, Dimitris.

How refreshing, someone of the same 'mind'.....you can disappear within the 'rules' and it quenches 'creativity'......it extinguighes the 'spark'....the 'histogram' FLATLINES'.....my brushes would all be broken.....my paints would all dry out....the flowers would not grow, their aroma no longer dancing in the air......my eyes would fail, and soon be void of sight...the stars would all go out.....no day, just only night.......and though I'd try, I could not exist......in a world of simply 'black and white'.

Thankyou Dimitris.......those words quenched a 'thirst' that had become almost unbearable.  Your understanding and support is most appreciated. I could not just 'take pictures'. sincerely, Gail

Thank you for your kind comment Birte despite your food preference, I understand completely.  I have my own moments.  Thankfully the aroma was pleasant, and not like I have smelled in some grocery stores in the meat departments.  One day I may go the 'veggie' route myself.  You never know. The more you learn.....

But despite all that, the Festivities were great to be a part of.  I've said it before, I can't get over how well it was organized, and for the number of people who attended, everything went smoothly. Usually there is some 'party pooper'....but not so.  Thankyou for visiting and leaving your comments, you know I appreciate you any support you give me.  Most sincerely, Gail

i just love the composition of this... the hi-toned blurry backdrop sets off the fine detailing of the subject very pleasingly, and i think the great space around his hat is in perfect harmony with the composition... very creative
