This is a fine portrait of a beautiful young lady.  I like the colors and the highlights in her hair, which emphasize the curls.  As Tony pointed out, the eyes are slightly soft compared to her mouth, If you shoot on AF mode (as opposed to manual focusing which in cases of portrait is often safer), make sure to select the focal point that is nearest the eye closer to the camera, and get a good focus on the eye (then recompose keeping the focus as you set it).  Widening the depth of field works too but if the eye is not the focal point, it will still seem relatively soft compared to whatever else is the focal point (in this case the mouth).  In this photo I suspect you used the center focal point which happened to be set on her mouth.  It is not a major issue 1) because your depth of field was relatively good and the eyes are just a tad softer, and 2) she has a beautiful smile worth of a Colgate ad so it's ok if the eye is attracted towards it.  Thank you for your recent visit and comment on my photo.  Regards - michel

Thank you all for commenting, it is good to hear from you.

Michel, thank you for the tips. This is one of the first shots I have taken with my new camera. I haven't taken very many portraits, but am looking forward to doing so in the future. I have a lot to learn. I will keep your advice in mind. Warm wishes.

Perfect title! I love those golden curls! Very lovely portrait in which it appears you have done a great job capturing her golden personality as well! Thank you for sharing. :)

I like everything about this portrait except the overly bright teeth---the rgb measures in the 250 range.  I am including an adjustment that corrects that to my taste.
