artofheadshots 0 Posted March 10, 2003 I can't believe it was so long ago now that I photographed this shot on a trip to Paris, France. My first and only time. Paris est un belle ville. Please let me know what you think? Maybe I was a better photographer 10 years ago. Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted March 10, 2003 6/6 "By the moment". And don't worry, if I change my mind it will be for 7s, not less. :) Link to comment
secondsight 0 Posted March 11, 2003 The kid's eyes say so much about his suffering. If it wasn't for my personal guilt I would love to do this sort of photography. Link to comment
michael_stevens3 0 Posted March 12, 2003 Absolutely stunning. This is excellent work. Too many photos here lacking emotional content. I work on the streets and know how difficult it is to capture a moment like this. Thank you for this image. Link to comment
laura2 0 Posted March 13, 2003 Gorgeous. Haunting. Stunning. Beautiful use of tonality. Has a very vintage feel to it beyond its ten years of age. I respect the spacing that you used between your camera and the subject. You didn't just go up to their face and snap away. You kept a respectful distance and didn't make a show out of their suffering. That's what I respect. Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted March 13, 2003 Yes Ringo, I changed my mind. Aesthetics and ethics are here. Link to comment
lei_gao 0 Posted March 13, 2003 It reminds me of the expreesion of the 4th world. My eyes were caught several times by this image. I believe the meanings behind this photo is more meanful. Link to comment
misseskisses 0 Posted March 15, 2003 This is a wonderful picture, depicting something I know way too much about. It springs many emotions in me. Great job. 7/7 Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 12, 2003 A very intense picture. Tone and grain work very well too. Link to comment
artofheadshots 0 Posted June 12, 2003 Thank you all for your comments. This is my favourite picture of all the work I have done. Judging by the ratings not everyone agrees with me. Cheers, Ringo Link to comment
stanley_rogouski 0 Posted March 29, 2004 I rated it a 7/7 even though it's far from perfect. But it's really fucking sad and I honestly hate the world when I have to look at shit like this. Not many photos can evoke that kind of reaction. And there's something Christian about the blanket (looks a bit like a shroud), something that evokes Christian suffering. Link to comment
