so surreal. i love it. the background is great as well. in my opinion, perfect...but then again, nothing is perfect.

The image is very surreal and stirs emotions. It feels like maybe I have journeyed to the ends of the earth and this is all that stands.

I love the way the harshness of the gnarled tree is contrasted with the softness of the colors in the distance. I love old dead tree pictures and this one definitely ranks way up there!!

This photograph was taken at one of the highest points of

Yosemite.

The drop behind the tree is approx 1800 ft. It feels like a view

over Mordor from Lord of the Rings.
