Color Tulip w/ Black and White Background

The original shot was taken at Pier 39 during "Tulipmania." I used photoshop to turn the background to black and white. I then used the clone tool to feather the edges of the flower and blend the stem into the background.

This is my first atempt with changing the background of an image to

black and white...how does it look? Any suggestions on what I could

have done better?
