Maybe I just have an 'over active imagination'!  But I've always loved making things look different. Glad you liked this one.  Be over to visit you soon.  talks soon, Gail

Hi Gail:

Such a nice treatment on this image. You do have a way! Have you learned all this through courses or are you self taught?

On the other front. It is so nice to see you enjoy your children so much. I also have a son although grown up now. His name is Russell and he is  turning 19 next month. Love him to bits although he really gets weirded out  when I show it LOL.

Take care and have a great time with you photography this summer.

Jill

Dear Gail,

The gift you have given, and the 'gift' you are, are truly special!

Both the image and the letter to your son are a 'work-of-love' from a very loving Mother.

This also provided a Bright Moment in my life.

I have been extremely occupied for the last few weeks caring for a close friend, Mike, who came here to the Philippines rather than enter the VA hospital in Arizona.  He knew that he would die before long and wanted to be with his closest friend and a family that truly cared for him.  He got his wish.

Mike passed-away last night while comforted by all of us.  May he finally rest in peace.

Thank you my friend for shedding some warmth into an otherwise cold day...

I am truly touched by your very sincere words.  I did leave a message under one of your photos, but I do want you to truly know how very sorry I am to hear about your friend. We are here posting images, and while it is the photographic qualities and skill achieved that we critique on, I truly believe our photos 'touch others hearts' at a time most often when their souls are at the 'neediest'.  Each of us experience 'LIFE', and it most often comes upon us when we least expect or at the end of a loved one's arduous journies, that an 'expected' end is in the  'now' or near future.

I know my knowleged base is small, and I have a long way to go, but if this image offered solace at a time when your 'heart was heavy', then I have accomplished more than any 'number' could achieve. No matter how prepared we may think we are, this peace is one achieved through the healing process, which of course comes with time.  Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers(everyone believing different, this is not meant to offend).  You are a great support Dave, lean on a few shoulders for a bit....Gail

This is an exceptionally creative image and one that is appealing. Mother's and sons seem to have a special bond not that you don't have that with daughters. Someone said that seed seldom falls far from the tree and in a way I see the layered image in a similar way. The first image in the foreground is 'the tree' and the beautiful layer in the background is 'the seed'.  Well done.

Your translation is 'eye opening', I didn't think of it this way, and the image takes on new meaning even to me.....thankyou for your thoughts Tony...they always are meaningful to me....sincerely, Gail

Thankyou for your kind words of encouragement. Your visit and critique is very much appreciated Raymond (When I type your name I cannot help but think of my younger brother, his name is the same and you don't hear it a lot.....odd because I think it is a fine name!)  warm regards, Gail

Somehow I think I missed to reply to you.....very sorry.  My Jess just turned 31.....and believe me, at any age if there is love and forgiveness in your heart, I truly believe that through life's 'storms' we may have differences with our children, because of course we love them...and we hurt when they hurt, and there are times when we may be disappointd with their decisions.

Of course we will always want the best for them.  Not necessarily 'monetary' first....there are free gifts....Love...may they always choose wisely and find a partner who will look out for their best interests as they do 'theirs'.  And when they make decisions that lead them in the wrong direction, our prayers for their 'safe return home' we wish, will always be heard.  You will not stop ever loving Russell to bits, nor will you as he gets older.

We are 'Mom's'.....they are part of us, always will be, they are a 'gift' on loan to us. We don't always make the right decisions ourselves when it comes to them. but I believe with Love, we can work anything out.  You have a great summer too Jill. (P.S.  re photoshop effects, self taught, long process but I enjoy every new skill I learn).....lots, and lots of reading. I need to take more time on tutorials. I need to weed the garden also....hmmmmm wonder what I will do next.  Cheers for now, Gail

I spotted this on today's "sampling" knowing instinctively that it was one of yours.  It's a beautiful photo and I love the message to your son!
