I think it's a combination of hdr and other filters, I know there is something in the new version of photoshop CS5 that creates something like this, is that right Petros?

It is actually a bw of an HDR!

From one jpeg file I made two more in CS3 by increasing and  decreasing the brightness of the picture with curves. I usually do that with a RAW file BUT worked pretty good with jpeg as well....!! Processed to HDR and then converted it to bw (cyanotype) with silver efex (plug-in). And.... that' s it. Hope that will help you, if not don't hasitate to ask!!! Thank you again!!
