John Peri 1,039 Posted June 7, 2010 .. I have difficulty deciding between the cropped version above, this one ... Link to comment
John Peri 1,039 Posted June 7, 2010 I would appreciate your advice .. please read below .. Link to comment
juan carlos rivera 0 Posted June 7, 2010 I like more the full one. I think flowers are a good counterpoint and model foot helps to complete the image. Best wishes. Link to comment
robphotography 0 Posted June 7, 2010 Yes full works better; IMHO i would remove the metal hose and crop the perimeter more, maybe just one flower in the water? like i said, just my HO.Great shot, best regards,Rob. Link to comment
John Peri 1,039 Posted June 7, 2010 Thank you friends, everyone so far says full frame, yet as you see I chose to post the shortened version as my first choice. That is very useful to me, thank you ... Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted June 8, 2010 Sometimes you just have to go with your own first choice. I'm not sure the flowers and the shelf add anything to the feeling of the image. Equally, the cropping of her right leg doesn't bother me. There is enough of the tub and the hose to know what they are. Stick with your gut feeling, John. Link to comment
jerrymat 5 Posted June 8, 2010 John,I vote for the first (closer) one because it is a more pleasing composition, showing less of the background and a closer view of the model. The second image gives me the feeling of too little girl and too much background.Regards,Jerry Matchett Link to comment
wmc718 3 Posted June 8, 2010 I don't know, there's something about cropping at mid calf that almost always makes me feel like the model's leg got cut off... although I like the closer feel of this one. Try cropping just to the left of her left knee, and about down the middle of the flowers on the right and see what you think. Beautiful model BTW John. Where on God's green earth do you find them all?!!! Link to comment
John Peri 1,039 Posted June 8, 2010 Thanks friends .. so in fact we are back to my original idea. There wil always be what people call "the rules", but ultimately what counts will always be the visual impact. Michael, to answer your question, it's very simple. Every leap year you go for long walks at dawn during full moon, and you will find all the delightful models you could dream of .. but remember never to look behind you, or they will all disappear. lennart goldmann - geneva 0 Posted June 8, 2010 Beautiful picture, John! I tried modifying the angle and then the cropping. Hope you don't mind my messing about with your work! Greetings Lennart Link to comment
alones 2 Posted June 9, 2010 So very pure , Love the composition with the white surrounding Link to comment
976photo 0 Posted June 9, 2010 I like the full shot better, the flowers don't bother me too much, could go either way on those. I also like the tighter crop as well, something about cutting off the foot at the ankle bothers me. I say either leave the whole foot in or crop tighter, around knee or thigh. The hose bothers me though, distracts me from the girl. I should be looking at her, she's a beautiful model, but my eyes keep drifting over to that hose. Link to comment
John Peri 1,039 Posted June 9, 2010 Lennart and the others thakn you. I guess finally there are several intepretations possible, maybe that uis what confused me in the first place, its rare tha tI turn around in a circle like tihs. Thank you all dear friends, I really appreciate it. John Link to comment
robert gordon 0 Posted June 9, 2010 I prefer the full frame with the hose since it's part of the environment--just like the porcelain tub, the ceramic tile, and the washcloth holder. Link to comment
morophaenixmau 27 Posted June 10, 2010 ...for me,...the full frame! Without the right foot and flowers simething is absent!...Ciaomau! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 13, 2010 Beautiful Woman, John !My vision is above (sorry for the low resolution ;) ) Link to comment
John Peri 1,039 Posted June 14, 2010 Thank you. I see that there are still more interpetations possible. Personally, I actually like cropped work very often. Link to comment
drphoto1 0 Posted August 6, 2010 John, I much prefer the simplicity and subtlety of the cropped image, without the flowers. Your model's long legs become more evident and play a greater part in the image, and the bright colours of her lips and closed eyes are a key feature that I believe will be lessened by the bright colourful flowers just inches away. But that's just my opinion of course and I couldnt possible comment. Zain Link to comment
drphoto1 0 Posted August 6, 2010 Maybe its my surgical bias, but monotones and clean lines, with simple surfaces are by far my preferred look!! Zain Link to comment
