hanna_cowpe 0 Posted March 5, 2003 An eerie and almost surreal image. I like the light but am a little bothered by the hottest area bleeding into the edge of the picture. It seems a bit empty in the bottom left area, putting it slightly off balance to my eye, as though I want to be looking at it from a broader angle, but who knows, that might just be me. I do like it on the whole. This is an excellent folder so I'll be back to have a closer look. Link to comment
jon_dick 0 Posted March 5, 2003 The contrast really provides the depth of field. Great work Link to comment

John Crowe 165 Posted March 6, 2003 This is a nice photograph. Since there is very little on the left side of the image to look at, my eye is getting lost over there. Someone has mentioned the burned out area toward the top edge of the frame. My suggestion is to make this image a perfect square starting from the righthand side. This would remove the burned out area, it would remove the distracting white building on the far shore and it would still leave hi-lighted cloud formations in the top left corner. I think ones eye would travel around this image better in the square format. While you are in photoshop is it possible to bring up the the high lights in the wooden structures just slightly? You have created an interesting mysterious mood and as you know the clouds have allowed you to balance this photo extremely well. Link to comment
jbenallack 0 Posted March 6, 2003 Nice picture. One of those "strange light" shots that can be so captivating... but as I look closer I see the trick. The sunlight in the upper left background seems to be hitting the houses from over the viewers right shoulder. Almost a 180 degree mismatch. Note the sun isn't reflected in the smooth water. Also, the reflection of the closest dock seems to have been cloned out of the picture about halfway back to shore, I guessing, to get rid of a distraction in the water. I'd be tempted to clone the existing reflection over to the right to replace the missing section. The part that I really wonder about though, is on the right side of the image in the water above the first dock. In the medium and large versions are diagonal lines that look like a moire pattern... jay_patel 0 Posted March 14, 2003 Overall a very nice image. The photo could have used an ND Filter in the upper left corner (if you did not use one). This would have allowed you to make put more exposure for rest of the image without blowing out the highlights. Very good composition. Good job. Link to comment
brucieb 0 Posted April 6, 2003 The contrast and scenic worth of this and many of the others in this portfolio are really slick. this is truly fine photography, I think. It's really enjoyable. I do black and white infrared quite a bit, but this color to duotone effect is really much sharper without grain. Good work!! Bruce Bigman Link to comment
