Sunrise in the Catskills 2

this is the second photo taken that morning. I hesitated in

submitting it but nothing ventured nothing gained. Any comments

positive and negative will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.

i would say that the colors, even though they may represent the reality, aren't terribly flattering (i.e., the overall pinkish mask washes out the image). the composition could benefit from removing some of the clutter in the foreground and instead used to frame the background. try searching for "sunrise" or "sunset" photos here to see what i mean. just my 2 cents.

I love the effect of the luminous river running through the snow, and I also like the effect of the backlit trees. I wonder, though, if it's best to combine them like this? The shot seems a tiny bit cluttered, and the viewer can't always decide if the trees are framing the view of the river, or if the river is a backdrop for a study of the trees.

 

Worth getting up early for, though...
