The expression, especially the eye contact, and the light are beautiful. But the foreground hand (?) significantly detracts.

This is nearly a great portrait. I agree that the hand detracts. Oh well. I still very much like the photo for what is captured. The lighting is wonderful, what is it? Also, the little girl has the most beautiful eyes I have seen in some time. The lighting brings out their color and the great color of her skin tone quite nicely. Great job.

High impact image but I agree that the hand is distracting. The eyes, on the other hand, may be one of your strongest capabilities as a photographer as they are excellent in all your images

I can't decide on the foreground hand. In a sense it is distracting, but she seems to be almost hiding behind it in a way that's appropriate for the expression. A compelling photo in any case.

She has your eyes!

I like the hand, actually - she has a bit of a guarded expression, and the hand serves as somewhat of a barrier.

 

I'm working my way through your photos and you may have already explained this, but I'm really interested to know more of your lighting technique - your results are beautiful.
