wieslawmamon 0 Posted May 18, 2010 no idea what's going on here but you've managed to create an intriguing image, the divergent looks of the women seem to play with the viewer inviting them to make decision whose line of sight to follow. A matter of taste I think but I wish the left shoulder of the woman in an advert (?) were a bit darker. Great shot anyway, this is a kind of street photography I like a lot. Best regards. Apurva Madia 0 Posted May 19, 2010 Ton, this is a great one. There is a sort of tension between the handsome, glamorous bill board lady and the more plebeian looking street lady. Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted August 3, 2010 i find the eyes mesmerizing... both pairs... the light seems an integral part of the composition Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted August 10, 2010 thanks all.Wieslaw, I know what you mean but it's a backlit photo in the background so there was nothing I could do about her left shoulder. But frankly I don't really see that as a problem. Link to comment
matthijs 0 Posted September 1, 2010 A very fine picture indeed. (Plus one that doesn't already have 50 comments...) The compostion and the similar poses are great! I also like the "ghosts" on the left which give it another anchor in reality. The only thing I wonder about is the very white skin tone of the model in the front. I appreciate the high contrast but do wonder if she couldn't use a tad more depth in her face. Another thing I wonder about is whether the image might be stronger if you crop a sliver from the right. But I'm not sure about that. Anyway, love the shot, Matthijs. Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted September 4, 2010 Mathijs, thanks for your comment. About her face I feel it fits in nicely with that backlit advert poster. As for the right part of the composition I feel it's needed to balance the photo overall.groeten, Ton Link to comment
matthijs 0 Posted September 6, 2010 You're probably right... But those were the comments that bubbled to the surface. Alle goeds, Matthijs. Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted September 12, 2010 comments like yours can be, and often are, instrumental in leaning back and re-evaluating ones own work whether I agree with it or not. This I find of great value so thanks again. Link to comment
